I’ve been swamped since returning from SDCC this year – meaning I’ve yet to find a chance to update my cosplay archive with my newest costumes: Anya Stroud from Gears of War 3 and Lady Two-Face. I’m working on it, I promise! I can quickly say, however, that this SDCC was the best I’ve ever experienced. The positive reception to my costumes was overwhelming, and now I’ve got a CNN feature tucked under my belt in addition to a spotlight on EW, Destructoid, The Chive, My Modern Metropolis, and more. Reddit was even nice to me!
The writeup for Anya is taking longer than I expected, primarily because I’m going into great detail on the construction of the costume. I’ve had lots of people interested in replicating my work, and I’d like to prove as helpful as possible. Look for an update by this weekend!

I was very impressed with your costume on comic con. Great job, I have a whole new level of respect for cosplay because of your Anya Stroud costume. Here’s a picture of you from SDCC 11.

We are inspired by your Lady Two-Face. My 10 year old and I are currently working on a costume for her with your costume as inspiration. We have a make-up artist booked for the day, however, we would love some help in finding the mouth of two face. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to following your blog.

As for the mouth, we used SFX wax, blue latex, and fake nails painted yellow for teeth. The wax was adhered to the teeth with Spirit Gum. You can do the entire look with paint, too, if you don’t want to work with all the crazy makeup. It might be a tad easier on a 10-year-olds skin.

Thank you Candie! Having a hard time finding the suits? I had the same problem. It took me a few weeks of searching every day online to find the perfect pinstripe and white suit. Perhaps try some local trade-in or consignment shops? Best of luck!
