“We are Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.”

Just a quick note to share a new piece of art that used my mug for reference! I’ve always been a fan of Star Trek (TNG primarily) and so when  a talented artist on Deviant Art asked if he could turn me into a Borg queen I gladly accepted. The piece turned out awesome.

Below is his little blurb from the piece on DA:

“This piece has been in my mind for some time now. I’m a big trekkie and my particular favorite enemy in Trek has always been the Borg. Love those guys

“But it got me wondering about the queen. During her conversion to what she becomes does she ever think back to her previous life? Was she an artist who misses the ability to create? A mother who can’t hold her children? Lots of questions. So when I did this piece I wanted to capture that moment right before individuality becomes lost.

I used a modeling photo for the queen herself and alot of the original design work from John Eave’s designs. Personally the original design of the queen is what we should have gotten It’s just so awesomely creepy.”
